English professional football player Henry Poole, known for his erratic free kicks, passed away in September 2023. Along with his friend Terry Miles, he was recruited by the Valiants from Milton Youth Club, and after finishing his national service in the RAF, he would go on to play for his beloved team for 12 years starting in 1956.
He only lasted one season at Sandbach Ramblers after leaving Vale in 1968 before returning to Vale as a fan and supporting them up till his health broke down and the Covid shutdown prevented him from being there. Harry started more Vale games than any other player, except from Roy and Phil Sproson, and he finished with 79 goals, including some incredible free kicks.
